Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking is a great enjoyable short adventure with Himalaya Ultimate Adventure. One of the most exciting walking adventures around the Himalayas, covering the whole trip in a week.

An amazing destination to Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking, and adventure for all types of travelers. Where altitude gains at a gradual pace, without the problem of catching high altitude sickness or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).

The maximum elevation is 4,130 m and 13, 549 feet high, where trekkers get acclimatized slowly on daily walks. As well as spending overnights at certain heights, although the trek follows steep climbs and downhill.

Nevertheless, an enjoyable walk facing views of snow-clad peaks on daily treks, all the way to Annapurna base camp.

Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking starts with a short drive from the charming city of Pokhara. Where ride leads to the base of the high green hills of Annapurna Himalayas and then follows the uphill.

The trail around the villages is nicely paved with stone steps, making the walk and climb much more enjoyable.

As the walk continues reaching Chomrong, a lovely farm village inhabited by the Gurung people. The main hill tribes of the Annapurna region, which is also the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp.

The adventure leads down and ups then enter at Modi River gorge, as the walk follows the river upstream. An interesting part of the trek is the route leads to its glacial source at Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp. Where the massif mountain range glaciers feed the Modi River, which you can witness on reaching Annapurna Base Camp.

After walking through the river gorge then reaching a wide-open valley at Deurali and climbing to MBC. A short abbreviation for Machhapuchare Base Camp, similarly ABC for Annapurna base camp, from MBC entering into scenic Sanctuary.

Finally reaching Annapurna Base Camp in the heart of a massive towering range of Snow Mountains. Enjoy the comfort of a nice cozy lodge and marvel at the spectacular setting of beautiful mountain landscapes.

From ABC, having an enjoyable thrill of a lifetime experience head downhill for return treks to Pokhara. Enjoy the last overnight on the high hill village at Jhinu, a lovely place with a natural hot spring to get refreshed.

The whole adventure ends with an exciting short drive back to Pokhara, after a great wonderful moment on Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary Trekking.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Day 02: Drive or fly to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel -06 hrs.

Day 03: From Pokhara drive to Kande 1, 530 m and walk to Potana village 1,900 m via Australian Camp 2,050 m -1 hr. drive and with 3 hrs. Walks

Day 04: Trek to Landruk village 1,450 m-05 hrs.

Day 05: Trek to Chomrong village 2,170 m-06 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,630 m - 06 hrs.

Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 m - 06 hrs.

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at 4,130 m - 03 hrs.

Day 09: Trek from Base Camp to Bamboo 2,345 m - 06 hrs.

Day 10: Trek to Jhinu village 1,780 m a place with Hot Spring - 06 hrs.

    Best Seasons:

    Mt. Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking can be visited all seasons of the year-round, except the monsoon wet times. The best seasons are in spring and autumn/fall, where days are crystal clear for views and pleasant walks.

    The springtime’s begin from March till May, the high seasons for trekking to Annapurna base camp and around the Himalayas.

    Most days are clear fine and bright with sunshine, which can get overcast in the late afternoon. Chances of snowfall sometimes on higher terrain, cold in the morning late afternoon, and nighttime. The mid-hills are lively with wildflowers in seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendron of various species from trees to a bush.

    The next best time is in autumn/fall, one of the peak seasons. For trekking around the Himalayas and Mt. Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary, where days are mostly crystal clear for views and scenic walks. However, the days are shorter due to fewer sun-light hours, much colder morning and late afternoon till night time.

    Chances of snowfall sometimes during the walk around higher areas above 2,000 m high, but with a clear starry night sky.

    Religion, Culture of Annapurna Himalaya region:

    Gurung is the main inhabitants of the Annapurna Himalaya range as far as Lamjung Himal areas. On this trek to Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary visiting Gurung villages adorned with Tibetan Buddhism known as Mahayana or Greater Wheel. Established by great Guru Rinpoche Padamasamba in the 7th Century, reforming Buddhism which was near to extinct.

    The culture, tradition, and heritage are similar to its Tibetan predecessors, the Gurung are farmers and raise livestock. As well famous Gorkha soldiers enlisted in British, and Indian armies, including Singapore Police.

    Interesting villages of Gurung around Jhinu, Ghandruk and Chomrong villages. Witness the local impressive cultures of age-old heritage.


Detail Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival in Kathmandu at Nepal international airport, received by our staff and guide for short drive to your hotel. Located amidst the main city, check into your rooms and join in for trek briefing with other members of the trip. Our guide provides information about the trekking trails, local lodge, and culture and so on. Evening group dinner an introduction to Nepalese meals and traditions.
Day 2:

Fly or drive to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel -06 hrs

Early breakfast and depart for Pokhara, a drive of 5-6 hours exciting overland journey through Nepal countryside. Riding on main busy interesting highway then reaching at beautiful city in Pokhara by the serene Phewa Lake side. Where most good hotels are located, enjoy the afternoon facing views of Annapurna Himalayas and the Lake. (Options for short flight of 30 minutes to Pokhara from Kathmandu)
Day 3:

From Pokhara drive to Kande 1, 530 m and walk to Potana village 1,900 m via Australian Camp 2,050 m -1 hr. drive with 3 hrs. Walks.

From Pokhara a short drive beyond the city facing grand views of Annapurna Himalaya range. As drive leads past Hyanja village with Tibetan camp, and towards wide Shuikhet valley of paddy fields. Drive leads up to Naudanda village, another scenic view point facing Annapurna Himalayan peaks. As road climbs to Kande village, from here an hour climb into cool shade of forest reaching a wide field. Located amidst forest surrounding the small settlement with number of nice lodges is known as Australian Camp. This place as well a summer grazing place for cattle and original called Thulo-Kharka, later known as Australian Camp. Offers grand panorama of Annapurna range of peaks with Dhaulagiri and Manaslu Himalayas. From here a short downhill to join on the main trail with short climb to Potana for overnight stop. A small settlement amidst forest facing grand views of snow peaks with majestic Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish Tail peak.
Day 4:

Trek to Landruk village 1,450 m-05 hrs.

Morning after a great views of high snow peaks, starts with slow gradual walks. As trail lead into dense woodland of tall rhododendron and pine trees, and then climb for short while. Reaching a scenic view point ridge at Deurali, as well the route to Landruk and Mardi Himal. From here catching grand panorama of beautiful landscapes, facing view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna peaks then head down to Bheda Kharka. Walk continues crossing small bridges on winding gradual trail to Tolka, a nice village for lunch stop. From here a short walk of an hour to a large Gurung village at Landruk for overnight halt. The village with grand views of Annapurna South and Huin-Chuli peaks.
Day 5:

Trek to Chomrong village 2,170 m-06 hrs.

Catching the views of grand peaks, walk leads down to cross a bridge, and then within farm areas. Walk leads to cross a long bridge above Modi River to Nayapul / New Bridge, from here on winding trail. As walk follows to cross a bridge to Jhinu, a nice village with a hot-spring. Here you can enjoy the refreshing hot bathe on the way back after Annapurna Base Camp. From Jhinu an hour climb on stone steps then reaching Chomrong. A large village the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp with many good lodges for overnight stop facing grand views of snow peaks.
Day 6:

Trek to Dovan 2,630 m - 06 hrs.

After a pleasant overnight in Chomrong, morning after breakfast walk start on downhill to Chomrong River. Crossing a bridge, climb on stone paved steps to Sinuwa-Danda, a small settlement having few lodges. From here walk into dense forested path and down to a river gorge at Bamboo, a small place on a forest clearing next to Modi River, situated within bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest. From here an hour walk up to Dovan for overnight stop, a small place above from Modi River.
Day 7:

Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 m - 06 hrs.

From Dovan morning leads to climb, as air gets cooler following a forested path with ups and short down. As walk follows reaching a small settlement at Himalaya Hotel, near a large Hinko cave. Located at the bottom of Hiunchuli peak. After a short rest walk over old glacier and moraine and then heading for a short climb to Deurali for lunch stop. From here vegetation and tree lines fades for few alpine bushes and shrubs. Afternoon walk leads to a long steep climb following Modi River upstream to Machhapuchare Base Camp (MBC) for overnight stop, from here starts the Annapurna Sanctuary. MBC, located at the bottom of towering Machhapuchare Himal North Face, a good view of the twin summits that appears like a fish-tail
Day 8:

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at 4,130 m - 03 hrs.

Having breakfast, today a short day from MBC to Annapurna Base Camp, from here a short climb then entering into scenic Annapurna Sanctuary. Morning walk continues facing stunning views of Annapurna peaks that circles the sanctuary. Facing Mt. Annapurna-I, rises at 8,091 m with series of peaks the surrounds the base camp and the sanctuary. This beautiful country was well hidden until explored by the British Adventurer Col. Jimmy Roberts in the year 1956. Then it was exposed to the outside world naming the magnificent area as the 'Sanctuary of Gods'. On arrival at Annapurna Base Camp, transfer into a nice cozy lodge for lunch and overnight halt. Afternoon marvel the stunning views of snow clad peaks of towering Annapurna Himalayas.
Day 9:

Trek from Base Camp to Bamboo 2,345 m - 06 hrs.

After an enjoyable and memorable time at ABC, morning walk downhill all the way to Deurali. From here onwards with few short ups and downs and on gradual winding downhill and back into the forest to Bamboo for an overnight stay.
Day 10:

Trek to Jhinu village 1,780 m a place with Hot Spring - 06 hrs

Leaving the quiet isolated area of Bamboo, morning short steep climb to Khudi Ghar, and then downhill walk into a dense forest to Sinuwa-Danda, from here descend to Chomrong Khola. After the bridge climb to Chomrong village for lunch, afternoon walk on down-hill to Jhinu-Danda for overnight and final stop. Around the high green hills of Annapurna. After checking into a nice lodge, enjoy the refreshing dip in a natural hot springs about 20 minutes downhill near the bank of Modi River.
Day 11:

Trek to road head and drive to Pokhara-04 hrs.

From Jhinu last day short walk to the road head for exciting drive to Pokhara, after a marvelous time at Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary Trekking.
Day 12:

Drive or fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Morning after a pleasant time in Pokhara and around high hills of Annapurna, depart for Kathmandu. On the same interesting highway past farm villages and town then reaching Kathmandu, by late afternoon. Rest of the day free at leisure for individual activities and shopping souvenirs. (Options for flight to Kathmandu from Pokhara of half hour scenic flight)
Day 13:

Depart for international departure.

Transfer to Nepal international airport in Kathmandu, as per your international flight time, our guide and staff transfer you to the airport. The bidding farewell to staff and guide, enter the airport terminal for homeward bound, after a great wonderful holiday in Nepal and on Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking.
